Does anyone know if the spring length on a 2500 is the same eye to eye as the 3500? This pertains to the 3" wide spring. I would imagine the 3500 has addtional leafs for load capacity. ('96 model) Thanks

i think so... . i have a 4 inch lift that came off of a 3500. and the rear spring bolted right up to my 2500. . i could be wron though.....

Thank you for letting me know they fit in the same mounts. It is a real downer when you go to bolt something up and it's "whoops, to long. "

The spring parts are pretty much interchangable (the Kore kit I installed was listed to fit both). The 3500 frame has a taller section in the middle, Dana 80 on both the auto & stick trucks and slightly different hubs on the front.

?? My service manual shows a 7" frame section between the cab and rear axle for the 2500. It shows a 9. 5" section there for the 3500. I measured my 2500 and it is 9. 5" in that area. As far as I can tell the diesel powered 2500s have the exact same frame and springs as the 3500s.

Rear springs on the 2001. 5 2500 and 3500 are one number different. So they may llok the same, but somewhere there is a slight difference. Then again the 2500 in that year with Camper option was the SRW 1 Ton. SNOKING

I believe the spring capacities are the same as the main pack seems identical. The part number difference might be the overload spring. Standard on the 3500 and optional on the 2500. Somewhere I saw 7500 lb capacity for the rear springs.

I have a 2001 HO SWB 6 speed with the 3:54 Dana 80. The axle is identical in every way to the 3500 of that year. Overloads are exactly the same. The axle is rated to 11,500 lbs. The only difference is, I do not have duals and that is a simple hub change. :) For that year my tow rating equals the 3500 with one exception. If he has a 4:10 rear end he has me by about 1300 lbs and that is accounting for the extra tire weight carry capacity. Thats is the only difference. :)
