2500 vs. 3500 srw

Can anybody tell me what is the difference, if any between the 2500 and 3500 srw. I stopped by a deal the other day and the salesman (oops! sales individual) couldn't find anything in their Dodge information binder. After 15 min of not getting an answer from two of them looking in different books I made the mistake of asking another question. What is the tow rating between the auto and the 6-speed? More searching, finally they both found the page stating that the auto had a higher tow rating than the 6-speed. I don't remember the numbers because they wouldn't make a copy for me. I always thought that the manual transmissions had the ability for heavier towing compared to the auto. Did they upgrade the auto this much, or is this a miss print?

3500 has larger axles and stronger springs. Thats about it.

2500 vs. 3500

The only significant difference between the two is that the 3500 SRW has a set of auxiliary springs where the 2500 does not. This gives the 3500 a GVW of 9900 lbs versus 9000 lbs for the 2500. The manuals usually have a higher tow rating than the autos, can be by as much as 1,000 lbs (with the same axle ratio).
