I've really liked everything about this new motor transmission combo so I had to find a way to love the mileage..... here's what I did. Every time I topped a hill I reset the overhead... . when I got to the bottom I switched to time/temperature. It became a very fun game for the wife and I to see if we could get up to 30mpg, but since we were driving relatively flat areas at the time we topped out at 28. 6 I'll try it when I go north later in the week into some longer steeper hills and see if we can get to 40+

It really does make you feel better... . if only for the moment. ;)

if the overhead says it, it must be true!

Or at least to everyone I talked to. But I will admit if I reset mine when I fill up its only a few tenths off from my hand calcs. Everyone I talk to says they didnt know you could reset it!

park it and drive a Toyota

Trust me I'm not complaining about the mileage... . 10-13 pulling is actually better than what my 04. 5 does so I'm actually very happy with it... I was just having fun and making light of the very unreliable readout. I don't buy trucks for fuel mileage, just for the ability to work.

I am getting the same 10-13 towing in New Mexico mountains going into Ruidoso towing my 12,000# fifth wheel.

Empty 14-16. Usually around 15. 5 for normal driving conditions. In comparison the 04. 5 was 16. 5-18 empty and 8-11 with backhoe in tow. I'm very pleased with the mileage on this 6. 7! Really impressive towing... good mileage quiet, smooth operation and unbelievable control going down with the transmission/exhaust brake combo... .

I did get an honest 25. 1 MPG in my 2001 HO once, driving a 2-lane highway at 65-68 MPH on a 300 mile trip. Other than crossing a 4000 foot pass from low elevation the road was pretty level. Truck was a shortbed 2wd 6-speed.

Well I tried your trick and found this enabled a short term reset of the fuel usgage monitor, as normally it only looks at the overall average usage.
Todate the best I have been able to register is 34 MPG using your technique.
And yes it does make me feel some what better until I climb u the other side of the hill. Oh well it was fun while it lasted.
My normal milage on a long haul is about 21 MPG, @1600 RPM and a nominal 60 MPH running empty. I use this truck for light courier work and it is a fantastic ride.

Just for laughs I got 53 MPG on one hill.
Love Life while enjoying the ride.
I live in this truck for at least 12 hours per day and something however silly like this to brighten up my day is very pleasant indeed.
Thanks for moment of sillyness.

99mpg

Going down hill out in CO area, you know them 10 mile long down hill runs, I reset the computer and seen 99mpg, and 250degree EGTs!!! And that's with 6000#'s in tow!

Come on folks!

Don't you just love it.
All the fun you can have just by using the built in EVIC controls.
Now has anyone found and even steeper hill. ha ha
Now if only we could find a way to store up the good readings for the up hill climb!

Enough of this dainty-foot foolishness!

Aren't there any Manly-Men out there?

How 'bout some guys with heavy-loaded rigs find a steep UP-hill, reset their gauge, and tell us who can get the LEAST mpg? :)

Watch those RockyMountain winter runs.

If you get below-zero EGTs, it will plunk your magic twanger, and reverse the system.

The high compression will over-densify the cold air and turn it into diesel fuel, backing up through the injectors and over-filling your tank!

Smokey willl getcha for hazardous slippification of the highway.

(Just tryina help. ) ;)

Not a 6. 7l but I've seen mine under 3mpg IIRC. In reality it probably should have been reading negative.
