TDR Brethren-

Through my research I have found a few guys using 265-70-17's on their dually so I wanted to submit another thread in hopes of getting more responses. My stock 235 tires are completely gone after 25k so I am in search for new tires. I like the 265's because they are wider however I am concerned about the spacing between the duals when towing. I dont plan to use spacers so my question is how much space is left when running 265's with a load?? For those who are using this size are you happy... . and would you do it again?? Having a G56 I would love to have a taller tire but that isnt an option unless I go with 19. 5's (lottery pending). :-laf

Sorry for duplicating another thread on this topic. Please chime in with your thoughts and thanks in advance for your time.

they will fit just fine, you will have about 1. 5" or greater between the rear wheels. there isn't much difference in the height, I think less than a quater inch.

Before you go to a larger size tire, check to see if you won't void your warranty. Everything about your truck was designed for the 235 size tire, such as braking, suspension, handling, steering, fuel mileage, odometer, towing and on and on.

Which tire brand and tread pattern are you talking about? I have six 265/70/17 E rated Bfg K/O's waiting to be mounted (waiting on Moto Metal 953's to show up) and am not really sure of the clearance I will have. Looks to be alot less than 1. 5" but cant be sure until their actually on the truck. Clearnance now with 235/80/17 Cooper S/T is less than 1. 5"
