Ya know... for what we have in our old classic rigs, ya just have to love these trucks we're driving around in, eh? Just with a few simple upgrades to fuel, air, and exhaust, I'm very very happy with my rig... especially when on the last fill up I averaged 19. 6 mpg. 452 miles on 3/4 tank of fuel, not to danged shabby. Great machines - easy to see out of, comfortable, good power, and classic.

Granted I'm planning lots of chassis and body mods (2 more doors, 4xdually/6-speed conversion), but the core is still the good ole 6BT. Won't do much more to the engine except for probably a water/meth kit and an ATS manifold. It's fun to dwell on future mods to the rig, gonna be fun, and in the end it'll be exactly the rig I have always wanted. The new ones are sweet, but I wouldn't trade my old 1st gen mule for anything.

my girlfriend wears ear plugs while we are on our way to and from the track in my '92

i probably should too...

i spent 2k on the suspension so she can drink a cup of coffee while on these lousy hwy's we have and not end up wearing it

i dont mind the 10 or 12 mpg that much (at 20k#), only when my buddies with their new rigs blow by me going up a grade and then brag (prolly lie) about the milage they got on the way to the track

i wont give up yet

first a new turbo better inj and maybe more pump mods

if that dont do it twins and ear muffs

don

Don, you won't need ear plugs with twins, it'll make that little "B" more quiet yet... ... ...

Yup, gotta love that easy to get good milage, and power for some good smilage!!:D I love the dangerously good looks of the first gens, that barn door aerodynamics, or like the good Pastor used to say, "blunt force trama". ;)

mine dosent have the power or as nice to ride in as my 01 mainly cuz i dont have ac and 70 degrees is to hot for me! but it gets around 18 mpg runs and pulls pretty good kinda beat to hell but i still think it steers better than my 01.

I sure love my old First gen. I get a lot of compliments on it when I take it to work every day. I haven't done any performance mods to it whatsoever..... yet. I run 22. 5 to 24. 5 mpg per tankful. Not bad for 2500 bux! I just love it. I'd rather drive it and let the R/T and the Charger sit. I just love the Cummins music.

Amen!! I am sure I could get a little better mpg if I could just keep my foot out of it. :) When the turbo winds up and kicks you back in the seat, who cares about mileage?? :-laf I can't quite break 20. :) I am stuck at 19. 5 with similar mods and power.
