Competition 271 transfercase - will the stock dodge 1410 slip yoke fit on the output?

Competition Which turbo.... again?...

Anyone know? Or do you have to buy a completely different slip yoke for the rear driveshaft?

For that matter, can you install the 271 transfer case will no changes to either driveshaft if you leave the slip yoke style fitting on the rear?

Thanks!

I believe the stock slip yoke will work, but the 271 case is longer than the 241HD so your going to have to have the driveline shortened or have a new one made up.

Also, the 271 is MUCH larger than the 241 and you'll have to clearance the driveside frame rail about 1/2"-3/4". When I installed mine the case was riding on the frame rail and driving down the road, the casting pads on the top of the case were hitting the bottom of the cab. I also had to clearance the transmission crossmember a bit for my front driveshaft CV but my front driveshaft is not stock.

You can view my install and others explainations of their installs on this THREAD

With my 271 case I did not use the stock slip yoke style as I got tired of leaking seals and such and I had Tranfers Case Express build me a case with the flange yoke. I also went with 1480 u-joints in the rear.

The 271 slip yoke is MUCH bigger.

Well, there ya go, I thought it was larger but not for sure as I went with the flange yoke.
