I have a 99 with 275 injectors Practical Solutions boost module DTT transmission Rasp and a BD exhaust brake. Recently my VA box failed so I want to replace it with a Edge EZ. Questions ? the boost module need to come off right as the ez has one? I haul a 2500 lbs camper and 1500 -2000 lbs trailer sometimes. Will I have EGT issues? No gauges and really don,t think I need them?

The EZ has built-in boost fooling. I had Mach 1. 6's and an EZ,carrying my camper all the time and had no issues w/excessive egt's. Going up the steepest grades you must use common sense and downshift as the truck will pull the grade and the DTT will hold the power. Gauges sure are nice though.

why not an adjustable box with the gauges on it? you should have at least a pyro and the adjustability would help you find the setting that works for you.

Have you done anything to your turbo? When I first got my EZ with everything else stock, I would see EGTs over 1200 without hauling anything (heavy right foot) . Do yourself a big favor and get yourself a Boost, EGT and fuel pressure gauge.

but then that world famous edge quality starts to shine and your out gauges and a box. it may look like a cluttered mess on my pillar and column but i know whats going on. also, analogs are easier to read at a glance. sure, it might cost a little more but with the cast we dump into these trucks, why be a tight wad :D

You can leave the wire untapped if you want to.

Point being, the Juice w/ attitude allows you to set egt, fp, trans, etc. alerts and audibly tells you if there's a problem. You don't necessarily have to read the screen at all.

I'm about to pull all of my autometer gauges in my 99 and just use the attitude. It's a much cleaner setup. (and if you're starting from scratch, much cheaper).

In my 01 I had 275's and an ez and never had a problem with egts. It would get close on the long uphill pulls with a trailer in high altitude(9k+). Though I would look hard at a Juice with the gauges built in.

I got the attitude mounted in my 99 and pulled all of my autometer gauges (3gauges on A pillar).

I love it. It's so much cleaner than all the dials. I highly recommend it.

Only caveat is that the boost dial reacted better than the attitude, but I'll trade that for the simplicity, reduced clutter, and eliminated wiring.

I had an Edge EZ that lasted 2 1/2 years before it died. The Smarty will give you a lot more power and less smoke than the EZ. If you want to really make things interesting you can stack a Edge Comp with the Smarty. Gauges are still a good investment. An Egt gauge cost a lot less than a $10,0000 engine.

Huh???

Who has the time to be babysitting analog gauges, when you can set the alarm on the Juice/Tude, no more watching... anymore ?'s also has a Turbo Timer built-in? Eh, thats a few hundred that wasnt needed to be spent, I hope you analog boys not get the urge to pull them out and pop in the new Juice/Tude...

As far as type of guages get whatever you like, I have analog & love em but DEFINATELY get them, PERIOD! As far as not needing them, WRONG! I run an EZ & 275's & you WILL be able to hit 1200+ easy on a hard pull with an EZ & 275's or at least I can.

Okay you guys can quit harping me on gauges. After 81500 miles they arrived on Thursday and I installed them today. Heres my numbers (no EZ yet). 250 300 degress at idle-400 -500 x brake on 550-650 going down the road max is 950 wot uphill. boost is 2-3 going down the road Quick stab on the pedal 10 lbs wot 25-27 lbs. Not sure what I looked at before had them but I sure hope I don,t wreck watching the gauge. Oh yeah DO NOT touch the egt probe its HOT. I said I guess I won,t do that again anytime soon as I jumped back. Thanks for the replys.
