It stands for "Diesel Dynamics True Torque Power Module" and is a box that was produced by Edge Products that was basically an EZ, but programmed to Diesel Dynamics' specs instead per their lessons learned from extensive dyno testing early on in the performance game.
The main differences are a milder timing advance, a setting for "timing increase only" (no added fueling) and I think the fueling per boost levels are slightly different (possibly milder - but not sure). The milder timing was to ease the additional timing advance caused by going to larger injectors. It lowers peak cylinder pressures a bit under heavy load and definitely makes the motor rattle less than the EZ does (on an SO motor anyways). I believe DD found that the slight decrease in timing offered less cylinder stress under extended heavy pulling, with a very small loss in performance. The milder fueling maps (if true - am just speculating here) produce less smoke at low boost, but I do know for a fact it has a nicer, seamless fueling curve that is mild and kind of like stock off the bottom, but ramps up nicely as the go pedal is depressed further. IMO, and if this is true, it is a nice compromise for those of us that are shooting for higher overall miles on our rigs. Plus I don't care for all that rattle noise anyways, and this box helped in that dept. significantly.
Again that's just one person's opinion and as others say, your results may vary.
