275s+ez=?EGT

The warrantee is gone and the credit card is out. I just ordered a DTT vb and tc, SPA gauges, 275 injectors and a PE ez. The question of the day is what EGTs will I see with this? The truck has about 10,000lbs of trailer behind it about 40% of the time. I would like to hold off on a 4" exhaust if possible to keep the sound down. BTW, thanks to all who post, this is the best sorce of info out there bar none.

With the EZ and 275's, you should have no problem with EGT's as long as you install the boost elbow along with the EZ. With 10,000 lbs. in tow, I am hard pressed to exceed 1,100 deg. pre turbo. Although I do have a 4" exhaust. Although this combo does not seem to create EGT probs. , I wouldn't do any upgrades without gagues - its just good practice. Hope this answers your question.

I am running the eact combo that your are investigating and I tow with 14k on the back and have no EGT issues, if I turn on the PE box level one still no issues unless I just flat out nail it but I do not recomend that unless you realy need it during towing. You will love the combo it adds a nice round power vs egt setup.

What is a boost elbow?

No such thing as a stupid ?
A boost elbow is a little brass pipe elbow fitting that fits into the compressor housing on your turbo, if it's not an HY-35.
This fitting makes the wastegate blow off at a higher pressure as opposed to lower pressure, therefore more boost.
As for how it does this, I don't know.

OldIron, I ran this combination for about 2 months, before switching to DD2's. No problem with EGT's. Good combination, especially with the DTT transmission mods.

I have the same stuff, plus a little more. I don't tow much (just a couple of snowmachines) and I have the baby turbo. I do not think you will have any problems other than a permenant grin stuck on your face.

I also have similar mods but different brands with no egt problems but you will find chasing japanese and european sport cars uphill taking up more of your spare time.

The right 4' exhaust does not have to = LOUD unless you order it to be LOUD. Yes you will need to upgrade the exhaust, either a 4" or by eliminating the stock muffler and straight pipe the gap left by the muffler. ( loud )

I have the JARDINE 4' and at all speeds the engine noise is louder than the exhaust noise.
If you install the transmission mods first you will be able to evaluate the product.
