ok so i went into les schwab today to get some price quotes on the Open Country E range tires in 285/70r17. they told me $273 per tire out the door!! and i asked them about price matching, they said bring in a price quote receipt and they would match it. i was pretty shocked about the price of those tires. its time for tires, ANYONE KNOW OF A CHEAPER PLACE TO GET THOSE TIRES??? there is no way im paying $273 per tire for 285's. thanks for the help guys.

I have the Les Schwaab flyer in front of me from Last Sundays Oregonian and it shows those tires on sale for 215. 03 each. I am looking at getting either those or the M/T's. The prices are supposed to be good until October 31.

Aren't the nitto's a load range D? Either way, I have a buddy that has the 295s, only got 20k miles out of them.

I questioned that too. However, the website says "E" now. Nitto grapplers in E rating formally were available in "305" size. They are a soft riding tire.

Those Toyo's in load range E weren't available just a few weeks ago. I looked everywhere and all I got was, "They're on national backorder". I could find the Toyo in that size in load range D, but the E range in the same size was what was impossible to find. Now that they have such demand for it, they probably won't be running any sales anytime soon.

I just got a set of the D rated Toyo Open Country (3195#) tires for $154 apiece from a buddy of mine. I think they just came out with the E rated (3750#) tires. I did my own research before I bought mine and someone on here said the 3750# tire was only available on the west coast at that time.

Is that the tire they priced you?

I've not been that happy with the D rated tire. Too squishy.

And just a reminder to make sure they change the valve stems when they swap tires. They did not change mine and I had one blow out of the rim today

That is something you wouldn't think you would have to tell them to do! But in our world of cost cutting and penny pinching--thats what happens.

yes the tire that i got priced was the 3750 pound rating E tires. i can not believe that they would try and rip me off that bad, but i guess its all about profit nowadays...

where did you get that flyer from?? what Les Schwab is that for?

This flyer was in the Oregonian on Sunday. That is our newspaper here in Portland. I just looked again and it is for the E Rated tire. Your Les Schwab in Elk Grove is listed on the back.

Just to be sure we are all talking about the Open Country A/T right?

I think the M/T in a similar size only comes in a 295 and it is like $310.

I looking for a Schwab on the Oregon side, the one in Camas is high. bUt they do a lot of free stuff to evaluation so you can spend money later. $600 for rear disk and rotors on the Iszuz trooper.

I just paid 234. 00 a tire monted and balanced at the Les Schwab in Carson City,NV. This was not there sale price but the regular every day price. These were the E rated Toyo 285 17 AT. Only have 400 miles on them so far but I am happy. They are quiet for a aggressive style tire and I look foward to a winter without the stock michilens which just sucked in the snow and ice.

ok guys after a bunch of searching around i found the TOYO A/T's in a 285 for 211. 00 even got a price quote! so the total after balance and stems and tax was 994. 00. this was at another les schwab not too bad thats a 100. 00 less than the first les schwab! so check around guys there is definately going to be some dealing going on! i found out all les schwabs arent out for just your money, some really do want your business!! i've got a few more to call tomorrow but i think this might be the best deal i can find. if you can find them cheaper, please chime in thanks!!

Your price is close I was around $950 out the door mount and balance for Toyo M-55 from Schwab in Camas, I think I need to start buying tires in Oregon and save the 8. 5%, nut then Iagain I do use the raod in Washington a lot more.
