Are those on the stock wheels?

yup i cant say enough good things about these tires so far. have been great.

smooth ride no noise all kinds of traction in the rain. i dont even have to adjust the way i drive or shift in the rain anymore.

RobertP,

Any chances you have some pictures of your truck. I noticed it has the D25's and a 285 tire. I am thinking of putting on the D25's, but I can't decide on the 285's or 35 toyo m/t's.

Thanks, Joe

I am looking forward to the pics because I am thinking of selling my 35's and getting the 295 M/T's like I have now or the A/T 285's and keeping my leveling kit.

Why are you wanting to get rid of your 35's?

ok guys after a bunch of searching around i found the TOYO A/T's in a 285 for 211. 00 even got a price quote! so the total after balance and stems and tax was 994. 00. this was at another les schwab not too bad thats a 100. 00 less than the first les schwab! so check around guys there is definately going to be some dealing going on! i found out all les schwabs arent out for just your money, some really do want your business!! i've got a few more to call tomorrow but i think this might be the best deal i can find. if you can find them cheaper, please chime in thanks!!

Are these the load range E 285's? There are 2 versions - load range D and E. The D version are cheaper and the E version were very hard to find up until a couple of weeks ago.

I want to get a little of my gearing back, I have 4. 10's but with the 35's I am guessing its back down to a 3. ?? ratio. We may step up to a bigger 5er, if we don't it will just tow the one we have that much better. I have tossed around going to a 4. 56 but can't get a SOLID answer of what ratio I will have with a 4. 56 and 35's, only guesses. I have grown used to the 35's and am not sure what to do????

Personally, I don't think I would ever go lower than the 4. 10s in my truck. I have 285s, not sure what that changes the gear ratio to, but not much. I can still start in second with only lightly feathering the clutch when towing my 11,200lb 5er. When I tow tandem (right at 16k), I start in first without touching the accelerator.

Ok to get some things straight on the thread, Toyo does not make the open country in a 285 load range D anymore! this was confirmed by 3 different les schwabs. thats not to say there aren't some still around but they are even harder to find out here on the west coast. This is mostly because they are producing the better upgraded tires now.

But this thread was started for only a Load Range "E" tire. so any references to tire prices please make sure we are all on the same page and talking about load range E. there is about a 50 dollar or more difference between the E's and the D's so there is really no comparison.

Sorry if there was any confusions on what tire we were talking about.

All the prices I previously talked about were for the E Rated tire. I had the add right in front of me.

have you seen any pictures of the 33'' tires with the leveling kit yet. there are a few members on here with them and they look pretty darn good!! i saw a member with pro comp's something like 305/ 60 or 65r17 came out to about a 33'' tire but a little wider even looked pretty good. it is on one of these tire posts, but im not too sure about pro comp tires. they are still fairly new as far as tires are concerned.

I have seen some trucks with 295/70/17 Toyo M/T's and they look good, but they don't quite fill the wheel wells like the 35's do. I do think that they are a good compromise if I don't go with the 35's.

I don't know what the latest scoop on 285/70/17 LD "E" open country a/t's is around here, but I can tell ya the on 7/25/06 I paid $812. 00 out the door from the local Les Schwab dealer. I have got 3500 miles on them and still looking good. Looking forward to this winter without the stock BFG's.
