sorry not the best overall for the tires.

Ive got 295's on it now. I had the 285's on my 04 with stock susp and it looked OK. I think would have been better with 295's on stock and 35's on level kit

Jason, Your tires look like 285/70-17 not 285/75-17(that's what you get for posting such big pictures; how did you do that anyway? when I try it says max width is 560 pixels, yours look like they are 1024).
Here are some not-so-good pictures of my 287/75-17 tires.

are those the chrome-clad skirt wheels that you painted black? they look nice -- any special process used to get the paint to adhere?

thanks

Those look like the cast aluminum '03 - '04 version.

Vaughn, that is a mighty fine eye you have. I wonder if I could accomplish that paint job on a pair of chrome-clad skirt wheels (non polished alloy). The chrome-clad skirt wheels are usually quite a bit cheaper -- I don't think I have the heart to paint over a polished-alloy set. I need a set of chrome-clad skirts to paint black-grey.

thanks, ron

Yeah I recognized them because that's the only wheel with sharp vs. rounded edges on the spokes :)

I painted the spoke openings on the wheels on my '98

Those wheels are in deed the chrome clad wheels with the chrome peeled off. They are the unpolished alum wheels under the clad.

Its a major PIA to "peel" the clad off. They leave a lot of silicone/glue on that had to be removed from the wheel prior to painting. I didnt have enough patience to get it off with out marring the wheel surface. So i sanded and painted them instead. I think the paint turned out well.

I can't find the link to upload pictures. Where is it?

You have to hit 'Post Reply' instead of "quick reply"

You could also do like I did and upload pictures into Photobucket or any other free photo hosting website then insert the link for the photo in between #ad
