Will 285/75r16 fir on my stock steel rims from a 98. 5 24v?? I'm leaning toward somethind with load range d or e. The Toyo thread was pretty interesting, specially the air pressure part. I think I screwed my set of Michlens up by not running high enough air pressure and doing a lot of city and parking lot driving. I gather the Toyo have a stronger sidewall which would stop some roll.

Thanks

What size are your stock rims? There is a couple different sizes. I have 16x8 stock rims with the 285/75 r16 and they fit just fine.

The tire rating on all the 285's I've looked at is a d rating tire with a max cold air pres. @ 65 psi, that holds 3305 lbs at a single wheel rating. And as far as tire roll I would go with the bfg ko, they have a 3 ply sidewall and a 5 ply tread, which really stiffens them up when cornering without the mushy feel. Hope this helps.

Bill, I have 72K+ miles of experience that says the 285's are just fine on factory wheels. I am sure someone will tell you it doesn't work though. Mine wear as flat as can be and I got over 50K miles out of the last set of BFG ATKO's. I run 60 PSI front and 50 rear. Hope this helps.
