Vacationing at PEI

DHRA Race

Ok guys... the response from all of you 1st Genners' has been great. Piers has noticed the interest and he say's we can book this for one of the following dates...

1) Saturday July 17th

2) Saturday July 24th

3) Saturday July 31st

Now, at this point we MAY have the option of making it a two day event since there are guys willing to travel for this.

That still NEEDS TO BE CONFIRMED regarding the 2 day option but other than that... . we can go with the best date for as many guys as possible...

There is little doubt that there will be a tailgate party or two as well as some mysterious smoke and noise at some point... . ear plugs are optional... .

If you plan to attend and would like some info on accomodations just shoot us an email and we'll send along some info for you.

What the overall agenda is/will be:.....

Fender chat, parts fiddling, tuning, tweaking, shooting the breeze and if there are enough guys wanting some dyno time, we'll try to arrange that too.....

The shop will be available for use as well as the hoists and so forth.

In 2003 we had hoped to see more guys wanting to do some tweaking... I don't know if it was just everyone being "shy" or what but this year, you just gotta ask and we'll jump in with both feet... :D:D

I hope that we have as many guys as possible to come out... .

Last year in January during some not that great weather we had a great showing of 1st Gen trucks... . We're hoping for another summer like last year so we'll have good weather during July.

Another item as well... . no one will be turned away, so if you're running a 2nd or 3rd Gen all are welcome.

So guys you need to settle on a date and make sure you bring a shiny truck, some tools if need be and whatever else you may need to make it a good time... . like that's gonna be a problem ;):D

Well, there ya go... belly up to the dyno and hash it out... .

pastor bob... ...

note: find stick, clean collar, order some "bonus HP points" and "HP penalty flags"... ... . :D:D:D

OK, I"m first over here too! Oo. Where the heck is everone? PB, You the man for getting it to happen and Piers is that man for allowing it to happen!

Carl

Find stick?? You mean you actually put it down? I can almost feel it coming!!

Not this time around pastor. I'll hold down the fort out here in the midwest. Maybe next year. Have fun, get pictures and put names with the people so I can invision who I talk too here on the TDR.

Oh and you can't really deduct HP from me because I have never dyno'd, right? Or will I start with negative numbers?:D

Michael

Nuts!! That would be the shortest trip I have to make this year. The others are family related so it won't happen this time.

quote: "..... so if you're running a 2nd or 3rd gen, all are welcome"

OK, fess up! You want to invite some 2nd gen and 3rd gen guys so you can poke fun at them! Admit it! ;)

Dave

Cerberusam are you saying that all us first geners aren't your family? You aren't getting a 2nd or 3rd gen pickup are you. Please don't disown us. Just kidding had to give you a bad time to bad you wont be able to make it. Pastor any date will work for me. Probably the later one will be better I will have more money to spend, but either way I am coming. That is if they let me across the boarder?

I told my girlfriend that I was going and she said that she wanted to go and I said NO its a guy thing and you wont have fun. We will see what happens.

Stomp

Ahhh... . come on guys... . find a way to make it... .

I really want this event to grow each year... :D:D

Ok, Ok, I know there are other things in life and other responsibilities so ya gotta do what ya gotta do..... :D

Just as a side note to this... . I had a good chat with Piers and we really need at least 6-8 weeks between this 1st gen day and the all out dyno day in late Sept... . the 18th I think it is. .

We need time to recharge, and get set up for it so that's why we are landing in the late/end of July dates... . sorry I couldn't make it later to allow more of you to come out.

We also thought it would be good to have all the older trucks who run the dyno to compete with each other rather than take a back seat to the newer trucks too... .

Hey Stomp,,, hand the gal a 15mm combo wrench and tell her to lift the hood and find were it fits... . is she does, she can come, if not... ... Aaaaaaaaaa... . not allowed... . ;):D

pb.

I might be able to make the 31st... the 25th is "Truckfest" at Bandimere Raceway here in Colorado (lots of diesel drags, etc).

So, if I get a vote without saying "I *will* be there", I vote for the 31st

John

Pastor Bob so what does a 15mm combo wrench look like and what does it fit????? Just kidding. I will post the results after she gives it a go.

Stomp

OK, JULY 31ST IS THE DAY !!!!!

Let's make it a good show... . remember... the shop guys will be willing to help tune and tinker if you want so just speak up if there's something you don't know, or would like help with...

pastor Bob.....

Excellent I will be there.

Question do you want us to e-mail you at Piers for info on places to stay or do you want us to PM you.

Stomp

Yup, it should be a hoot..... we had an awesome turn-out last year... on a cold cloudy January day we did real good... .

I hope this one has warmer weather but any day tinkering and leaking testosterone is a good day..... :D:D:D

I guess it would be good if I actually went and told Piers what day we're showing up eh... . ahem... . I gotta go...

Decisions, decisions

OK, I can get the time of, no sweat. One advantage of being an independent contractor- it's impossible to get fired, if I give enough notice (somewhere near one week sufices). BUT... ... Can I aford to take off the busy time of the month? During the busy season? I mean, as in $300-400 a DAY busy. But if I have to come back here for court then, I may just p!ss away the weekend, then.

So no, probably not this year. Next year I may have my ducks in a better row. Then CB and I can compete for top honors, if neither of us buys a 97. When do I have to give a definite by if I find a buckle bunny, er, uh... . I mean... ... COWGIRL to help drive?

Even though the sockeye fishing season will likely start around July 31 on the Fraser River, I am definitely planning on attending and go fishing some other day. Had a good time at the first "First Gen" day this sounds like it will be even better.

Hey Guys... .

First, thanks for all the efforts to attend this second 1st Gen open house... . it doesn't work with out you all... .

Just a tad of an update...

We are still trying to nail down one more guy to help run the dyno. Because it is a long weekend here in BC some folks have plans as you can expect.

Anyway, we hope to run the event from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. These will be the official hours for the event.

As noted we'll do our best to dyno those who want to run, but it does depend on one or two more folks giving up their long weeked.

I'm going to start a "confirmation" list in the 1st gen forum for those who are confident they will be attending. Please check the list as I assemble it and update me as to your status if you are not listed or, listed incorrectly.

Thanks... .
