We are getting ready to replace our 88 Honda Accord(my wifes car) and she was trying to make up her mind which favor(Camry,Accord. . etc). Being the fellow that I am I may have stuck my foot in my mouth. I made the suggestion that we look for a 98. 5 12 valve Quad Cab shortbed Cummins. And her eyes began to sparkle and she said,'Yes that is what I want, thats exactly what I want'. Now that means I will be working on 2 of them. I told her that we would keep hers stock, and again the queen spoke and said 'No we wont!', and thats the name of that tune. I love my wife!!!!!

WOW. . what a dream... a wife who wants the mighty cummins and wants it modified. . better give her what she wants quick !!

I've got some other things I need to get out of the way first, but my wife knows she'll be driving a diesel eventually(2wd 12v). Right now,her 94 Mustang has 140,000mi on the original engine, which is unheard of for a 3. 8 V6. They have been known to blow headgaskets by 50k.

I told her we'll see how this car is sitting in the next 20k miles... . that was until last week. The brake rotors are warped again, and the convertible top is starting to leak. I wish I could put her in one now.

Most important feature in a wife (well, maybe second most imporant):

A wife that supports your hobbies -- or better yet encourages them. Had other priorities the first time around, knew better the second time and married a keeper. My wife likes guns and trucks. YeeHaa, life is good.

Where else but TDR can you go for truck experience AND life experience?

I don't think I'll have a 2nd Cummins on the way yet,but yesterday I was thumbing through the auto trader and ran across what I was thinking of for the wife... '94 2wd reg cab. I'm gonna go look at it tomorrow since I have the day off. The price is cheap, but I'm not expecting to see a very clean truck for what the price is. Hey you never know. She's actually more exited about it than I am. I have to stop by her work on my way home to fill her in on the details.

We bought our first Dodge Cummins for my wife! She had a 1/2 ton chevy (350 gas) that served her well without any problem, but it was having some problems with a four-horse trailer in the mountains. She told me that she wanted another truck that will last forever. The conclusion to my research was a Dodge with the Cummins and 5spd. My only concern was that she stated that she hated the look of the new Dodge when it first came out. So, I decided to get her sitting in a brand new Chevy at the dealer and see if she still wanted the Dodge. When we told the salesman that we were also looking at the Dodge/Cummins, he proceeded to tell my wife that she wouldn't want that truck because she would have to pay for an engine that would last forever and she would be wanting a new truck and her Cummins wouldn't even be broke in. She leanded over and said "Lets go get the Dodge!". Thats when we ordered a 96' Dodge with the Cummins. Two years later, I decided that my old Ford truck would need more money in repairs than what it would cost to get a used Dodge with a Cummins. When I suggested to my wife that I could take her truck and she could get anything that she wanted (minivan for the kids), she told me to not even think about taking her Cummins. Thats when I found a 94' Dodge Cummins for myself with 100K miles. They are both white and both 4x4 5 spds. We love them both and I don't see us getting anything else unless we go for a crewcab.

Love our Cummins,
Tim

Howdy all,

I just about died when I read Mark Kitchell's reply here. Godzilla is my first Dodge Cummins, and I intend him to last me for a very long time. I just started dating this really wonderful woman several weeks ago, she's a police officer who also likes guns and trucks. She currently has a mid 90's Chevy 1/2 ton long bed, and says she'll never drive a puny little car again! Well, I took her along to Brandon's Modesto TDR meet back in December, and ever since then, she's extremely excited about "big Dodge diesel pickups"! Said she never knew anything about diesel's, and after I explained the major pros/cons of a diesel to her, and she met a lot of the guys who were at Brandon's and began to understand what the Mighty Cummins can do, she really wants one! I think I've created a [good] monster #ad

Hope this one can put up with me for a long time, as she is definitely a keeper #ad

Well I did go look at the '94 I mentioned earlier... higher miles, but a perfect truck with everything I wanted. It turned out to be a very lloonnngggg story, but this truck slipped through our hands twice in a matter of a few days. My wife wanted it so bad,but now she's mad because she didn't get it.
So has any of you seen a '94-95 2wd reg-cab 12v 5spd for sale cheap on any lots?
