HELP I have an intermittion second gear start problem. In cold wheather the transmission starts out in second gear. If I warm the transmission up and then shut the truck off and restart it the transmission works fine. I just came back from Florida and on days when the temp. stayed up say around 70f or above the thing worked as it should. If the overnite temp. went down the transmission would start in second that morning. Drive a coupla miles ,stop, shut down and restart it was fine. What the heck is going on anyway???This all seemed to start after I installed a TRANSGO shift kit. The transmission shifts great if I can cure this little problem.

Thanks in advance for any help or comments.

By the way I also installed a PRO TORQUE 93% TC,made a world of difference in towing.

Do you have a resistor installed in the harness on the firewall, which will put the voltages back where they need to be.

I installed the resistor that came with the TransGo kit(150 ohm)which gave me 3. 6V so I changed it to a 100 ohm and now run about 4. 6v. Once the transmission warms up it works great, but here in Western New York it can be coooold.

Any ideas?I was wondering if it might be the ECM.

Maybe somthing screwy in the cold wheather perf.

profile.

Right now I let it warm up good before I hook onto the trailer.

You may try some other things either a different ohm resistor or a variable one to try different voltages. Bill K. says you just have to give it a try to find the right voltage as all trucks are different. Mine was at 4. 55 and now is at 4. 42, now this may not be my problems as it only gives 3rd gear starts on rare occations and it has to be in just the right situation, Bill has given me all the tips to try. The one thing to remember is if you get this notice it and don't hammer it off the line:mad: bad ju-ju... ... you can cycle the key to clear it up..... FYI for some other folks!
