95 3500 Dually With 12 Valve Diesel Auto Trans And 4 Wheel Drive.

Problems With Tran, (1) 2 To 3 Shift Sometimes Ok Mostly No (2nd) Reverse Must Wait Several Min Or Select Rev While Still Moving Forward. Anybody Have Solution.

You need to do some pressure tests. That sounds like low line pressure to me.

I donno about you guys... . but I need a better description before I try to diagnose anything. The 2/3 upshift could be something as simple as a band adjustment. No reverse, could be the front clutch, or rear band.



The Front clutch also applies when 3rd comes in. The Front band lets go and the front clutch grabs.



Sounds like possibly a bad seal for the Front clutch off of the info we have.



First thing I'd do is change the fluid and filter.

When My solenoid and sensor were bad (located on the bottom of the transmission) I had a slow 2-3 shift and had to wait on line pressure to pull in reverse. I dunno if it applies to your transmission model or not.
