I wonder about cleaning the filter by blowing it out with air. When I worked in the truck shop that was a big no-no; cause it might make small holes in the media, and it might imbed particles that would drop out into the engine later. For fleets we would send the big air filters out to be washed, dried and inspected. Is air cleaning accepted now to prolong the life of a BHAF?



If no one knows for sure, I could check with the Donaldson tech guys and let the rest of us know.

The method of cleaning is by vacuuming the filter on the outside, or 15-20psi compressed air blowing through the inside. Has worked good for me so far, the bean harvest dust really gets things dirty, but the turbo is still clean!

Glad to hear you HAVE a bean harvest... . We have had about 13" of rain the last 2 months and now we are getting snow already... My beans are all in but way too many people around have everything still out... Good job, Marc

easier to clean is what I know at the moment, Havent had the chance to compare them both directly yet.

Love the new kit from Ben!!! Took five minutes to install, and about a third of the price of an AFE kit that I never have to oil! Looks good too! Turbo sounds much better now while accelerating, and very little turbo whine while cruising. Can't beat it for the price...

Seems to flow as well. The down side is it muffles the turbo whine (at least in my experience) :{ , haven't had it long enough to say much more. Looks nice, too.
