2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 2nd Gen Cup Holders

As most know, the 2nd Gen cup holders in the dash leave something to be desired. I recently modified mine so soda cans or travel glasses don't fall out quite as easy. As shown in the pictures included below, I used a dremel and made a slot in each outside corner where the cups go. The slots are just large enough to put a tie wrap through. once through the two slots, I cut another tie wrap and slid the lock portion over the tie wrap I laced trough the holes. After I tightened them up, I put hot glue over each end to keep everything tight and prevent rattles. Since I inserted the tie wraps, I've never had a can of soda or soft drink cup fall out of the cup holders.

Thats a great mod. When I had my '97, I used to call the cup holder 'the diving board'.

i clip my cell phone to the cup launcher, only thing i found it to be useful for

Got rid of mine and use a Smoothie from Geno's. Use the space for a switch plate.

the only thing more useless then the cup launcher is that cubby hole to the left of the cup launcher, good place for a gauge or if it didn't slope up it would work for a cell phone hole
