My wife is due with our first born in April, and we are now the proud new owners of a car seat. We had been looking at 'family vehicles' for a while, and keep coming back to the fact that the quad cab on the 99 had almost the same room in the back seat as most mid size cars and SUV's... . and its a heck of a lot better built. We are toying with the idea of her driving the 99 as her regular 'car'. The only think she doesn't like about the 99 is the fact that she has to sit so close to the steering wheel to get the clutch all of the way in. (she is 5'2")

Has anyone done any mods to their trucks to accomodate a shorter driver? I'm thinking along the lines of an extra thick clutch pedal, but am open to any suggestions.

Thanks,

-Vic

Looks like this is the way we are going to go. I've had the 99 since it was new and its only got 65k on it, and still is in brand new condition. Plus its big, safe, dependable, and fairly economical. I'm rigging up an extra 2 inch block on the clutch pedal to see if the concept works, then will try a permanent solution. I'm wondering if it would be possible to get the pedal arm bent?

Joe G - showed your comment to the mother-2-be. Who would have thought a pregnant woman could hit so hard?

My wife is 4'10" she hates my 2nd gen truck her feet don't even touch the ground I keep a phone book under back seat for her to rest her feet on I guess I understand truck is auto left foot dangling and right hovering over gas and brake can't rest your heel but I will tell you what nothing puts kids to sleep like a second gen with a diamond eye 4 inch exhaust doesn't matter what time of day it is my boys 9 months and 4. 5 are out cold after about 8 minutes of diesel humming
