I finally got home with my new to me 02, Slt, Auto..... First things first... Gauges and lift pump...

Gauges: Pyro, Boost, are a no brainer, but Fuel pressure? I am going with Di-pircol optix series and am also adding an aftermarket lift pump...

Where is the best place to tap for pressure readings? Do i want pre-filter readings and use banjo going into filter housing? Or do i wanna read pressure from VP? I read pressure from the pump on my 3rd gen... I need to be somewhat schooled on the 2nd gens again... :-laf

If there are any other opinions you would like to give let me know...

THANKS IN ADVANCE

you want to know the pressure that your VP is receiving. There should be a little black cap on the side of your vp. Screw that off and there is a schrader valve there, similar to what you use to fill your tires. Remove the valve with a small set of needle nose pliers, or a schrader valve tool and connect your fuel pressure guage there. You will then no exactly what pressure your VP is receiving. because it is post filter, you will also be able to see pressure differences indicating a needed fuel filter change

I've been very happy with the fuel pressure readings from my Edge attitude monitor. I like that it has the alert feature for low pressure warning with the ability to see actual pressure, too.

fuel gage

I agree with the others that have said you need a fuel pressure gauge. which one is up to you. There are a lot of good ones on Genos. For ease of install I recommend usinf westache. For quallity I recommend ISSPRO or autometer. For location you can either order the Banjo bolt or get the replacement fuel filter cap from Genos that has the 1/8 npt in the center of it. Hope this helps.
