Started the truck today remotely, hopped in, pressed the button, put it in gear and got an error that the truck was not in park on the dash?

I put it into park, turned it off and restarted and the MIL came on.

The first one 7 weeks ago was a bad ammonia sensor.

I called the dealer, they asked if I could wait till next week. I asked why, and they explained that they have had a rash of MIL lights and there were at least 19 trucks ahead of me for the diesel mech to look at. They then went onto say that there is a serious issue with the RAM firmware on the 2014s and they are working to get it fixed as its causing MIL lights to go on unnecessarily.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad:

Anyone know anything more on this?

Started the 2500 up this morning and the MIL is off. If I take it to the dealer as planned on monday will they be able to see what the code was or is this now a waste of time?

If its true about Microsoft writing the program, I doubt that the system will ever be perfect, thats why I only buy Apple now. I got tired of having to replace my computer every two years and lose a lot of valuable pictures when they failed. I lost all of my pictures I took of the B&W factory, that few have ever been given permission to take.

Microsoft or Linux software shows up in the navigation systems not in the ECU/TCU firmware. There is still code being written by humans though which is always problematic.

Correct, All My 13s and 14 have been good, The running programs behind these (CEL)s Owners treat the message center as self destruct notice, there are 1000s of reason the CEL will appear about 99% of the reasons are mis-communication's , if the vehicle starts and runs normal this indicates about 99% of the time the CEL is minor and will disappear in the near future , the other reason is this generation of buyers believes that if no warning is given for any reason its someone else's fault, and the makers are punish BC of this, Law suits.

Some Knowledge and understanding go's along way in todays High tech vehicles, A Dealer making the statement the OP quoted is just NOT equip to do any diagnostics or repairs with a BS statement(s) like that. If the CEL appears Relax and investigate the matter, its not the self destruct notice.
