Got the lab report back and cant seem to cut n paste it for the moment.

All areas went down, except copper went up from 109 to 156. First oil change at 6475 (109 copper)with factory fill. Second oil change at (13600 approx mi) 7212 miles( on oil, (copper 156)shell rotella 5-40 full syn.

What would copper level rising indicate?

Will post result once I cut/paste.

Thanks.

Typically in our transit buses, we get copper leaching and it takes about 4 oil changes before it's mostly gone (roughly 24,000 miles in the transit world). Copper primarily is coming from the oil cooler and I'm sure the ISB is pretty similar to the ISL motor. The only time to really be concerned about high copper is if you see any of the other metals increasing with it, like if Tin or iron are increasing (or god forbid seeing any sodium), then start worrying. Eventually the leaching stops, it'll just take some time.

Thanks guys. I did some research outside TDR and came up with the same info. Whew....At least the motor is not disintegrating from inside out...:) I already have the "teenage shifting " pattern program in my 68RFE. I dont need the motor going goofy either...:)
