This is the second time that the ball joints NEEDED to be replaced on my 03. The dealer replaced the first time (Paid by DC). I have 74k on it now and they said they were not obligated to repair again.

I had them replaced by a local shop, the mechanic said the steering knuckles were bad also. $2000 later the truck rides tight, no slop. They replace all 4 joints with Moog joints that have grease fittings. Hope this repair last more that 40k.

Can you post the Part Number for those greasable Moog joints? I had mine replaced last month and Moog said that they did not make joints for my 03 4x4!

The shop that repalced them will get me the numbers this coming week. I will post as soon as I get the numbers.

Sorry about the late reply, I travel alot. The knuckles were worn so much that the new joints would not stay in.

seems like an awful lot of money to replace ball joints and knuckles. As fast as ball joints wear out on these trucks, I learned how to do it myself and replaced ball joints, bearing and ujoints for about $850 in parts.

ok so rock auto has them..... how many upper and how many lower do I need to replace all of them. excuse my inexperience Oo.

One upper and one lower for each side.

My ignorance relates to the adjustable uppers. How are they adjustable? Is it excentric so the orientation determines the adjustment? Or is it something else? If I were to put them in myself, how hard is it to adjust when I have the alignment done?
