92 4x4 Auto to NV5600 conversion question

More than likely blew my ATS!

Can I hook up the WIF sensor from my RACOR fuel filter in parallel with the stock WIF sensor wires. Seems like it would work since they basically detect a low resistance when water is across the 2 contacts. With 2 in parallel then either one could set the factory WIF light on the dash. Or maybe the stock circuitry that senses the resistance change is too sensitive and would illuminate the light without water present??? Anyone tried this?

Thanks.

I have not tried it, but I'm confident it would work. I doubt that the circuitry is actually measuring resistance... almost certainly it is looking for a voltage on the WIF wire when water completes the circuit across the two posts. In that case a second WIF sensor wired in parallel, if it sees water, would simply act as a jumper around the first (open) WIF, delivering the same voltage to the circuitry. Of course, as you say, the two WIF sensors need to be in parallel, not in series.

Thanks guys. I think I will give it a try. Probably won't get to it until it is warmer outside but I'll post back with my results when I do.
