Anybody out there ever converted a 2WD CTD to 4WD? I've got a 95 CCLB 5spd I bought new and wished I'd have ordered the 4WD option. The truck is very low mileage and I know what I've got, with the best part being NO computer control of the engine. Unfortunately the truck gets stuck whenever there is anything more than a heavy dew and I've been contemplating changing the truck over to 4WD. It appears the frame is the same between the 2WD and 4WD so I'm wonderin' if a conversion is feasible. I've looked at upgrading to a stock 4WD truck, but most of them I've looked at have a pile of miles on them and they command a premium price. Thanks... ... Lektrikman

Wow Lektrikram, a TDR oldtimer who averages 1 post per year! ;) Gonna have to get busy to catch up to me :-laf

Yeah I think you'd be getting into a pretty major project on that one. I know LB 4x2 trucks have traction challenges, the shortbeds do better. I had two of them with limited slip and was able to slog around pretty well in a foot of snow when we had a record-breaking winter a couple years back. If you don't have it I would definitely go with a limited slip setup.
