2wd lift or leveling kit?

I know this has been discussed in the past but, I wanted to find out if anyone has any new information on lifting or leveling the 2wds. I want to install 285/75 R16s on 16x10 Atlas rims. I need an inch or two of lift in the front. I read that I can install 4x4 coils to get about 2" of lift or install coil spacers. I have found the daystar poly spacers but, haven't found a source for steel spacers. I read where someone used fabtech upper control arms but, I thought they were only available for 1500s. I need some help asap because my rims are here and I have no patience.

I've got the Daystar plastic spacers on my 3500, for about 20,000 miles... no problems. I was gonna get steel ones, the guy at 4 wheel parts said they weren't being made anymore.

I would personally go with 2-inch all the way around. A leveling lift is level until you load the truck, then you get to ride @$$ down for the trip. I like the stock angle and when/if I lift mine I will go with something like the Daystar 2wd 2-inch lifts. They are on eBay occasionally for like $100, and they include the spacers, plus an Add-a-leaf for the rear. The Front is raised 2-inches and the rear something like 1" to 1. 5 inches to allow for rear end loading.

Jeff, check your PM and e-mail. The upper controls arms for the 1500 will work on the 2500 & 3500. I'm running DayStar 2. 5" spacers with FabTech upper control arms and shocks, the front is now higher than the rear. No problems with this set up. A friend has DayStar 1. 5" spacer with stock shocks and do not require upper control arms, almost levels the truck.
