I just installed Bob Verhoef's 2WD low kit on my 99 5 speed. Now when I want to maneuver my trailers in tight spaces I drop into 4WD Low but I keep the front axle disengaged by flipping a switch. I utilize the extra 2. 73 gearing to slow the truck but do not have to worry about hard pavement and the wrenching effect of being in four wheel drive.

Verhoef's kit consists of quality parts, comes with excellent instructions, and takes about 2 hours to do the installation assuming you proceed very slowly and carefully like me.

I did run into an installation problem and after several phone calls back and forth it was easily resolved. Bob was readily available and quite knowledgeable and cooperative. Thus he gets my recommendation. He can be reached at -- email address removed --

I also installed Bobs 2 low kit a month ago and love it, in addition to all that Lubeman mentioned I have my exhaust brake on the front switch as well.

Definatly a 2 thumbs up for Bobs kit:cool:

I did cut 3 inches off my stick shift, be warned if you do this that the shaft is hallow and you will need to do an insert... ... ... . Kevin
