What is the difference between the 2wd and 4wd nv5600? Is it possible to convert one to the other and bolt up a transfer case?

You have to change the mainshaft, and the tailshaft, not worth the trouble, unless you know a cheap transmission guy. There are plenty of 4WD 4500's out there fairly cheap. In late Oct mine will be available when I stuff the 5600 in that is in the garage!!

You could probably sell the 2wd 5600 on e-bay and turn around and buy a 4wd for not too much more money. The 5600's seem to sell pretty good on e-bay.
