2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 2WD tire suggestions?

Almost time to replace the rubber on my rig. I'm currently running Toyo M55 tires in a stock size, load range E. I've gotten two years out of them and this past winter they were a bit sketchy at times. My main concerns are cost, tire life and traction. I only have 2wd and an open diff so I usually go for an all terrain or max traction tire. What are y'all running and what do you think of it?

Mine's an '02 2WD with an open diff. I live in central Indiana so our winters are only "average" compared to northern climates. I've been running Michelin LTX-M/S's on mine and I never got into trouble in the snow or ice.



The reason I like these tires is that they are VERY quiet for me and, based upon LTX M/S's I've run on other vehicles, they should wear well.

How many miles you got on those LTX's? I put a new set on just before the winter of '04 and they were great. Unbelievable tracton in snow and ice, BUT the next winter after about 35K miles and 1/2 the read left they might as well have had no tread.



I ran a set of LTX A/T's on the rear and M/S's on the front and did pretty well, but you'll wear out 2 sets of A/T's to 1 set of M/S's.

My experience might very well reflect yours. I only have 22K on this set of LTXs. We'll see what happens next winter. I sure hope they grip... I was hoping for at least a good 60K out of these tires!

I use LTX/MS tires and get about 150k on the fronts and 95 to 100k on the rears. However, 90% of my driving is highway. Before I started transporting I was getting 80k or so, front and rear.
