3.08's anyone?

Does anybody here know where I could get a set for front and rear dana's? I would really love to have the 3. 08's over the 3. 55's for the type of driving I have to do. Please let me know if you have a source.

Russel, you would need to change out complete axles,housings etc,

the gears will not fit your 3. 55 housings, Very expensive propersition.



The housings were specially machined to fit the 3. 08s

I looked into the same thing for my truck some years ago... It will be cheaper to buy an overdrive and install between the trnas and transfer case.

I have an 89 model with 3. 55 gears and I installed a Gear Vendors overdrive and love it. I also sold a unit to Chris Hughes. Who has a dually and seays he likes his unit also. Maybe you should try this route.

Thanks for the input Big Don. I have considered that, but I am actually in the process of deciding which of my first gens goes, and which stays And weird me is currently convincing myself to keep my 1-ton 4X4 SWB dump and convert it back to a pick-up . When I get that far, I'll give you a call about the over drive. BTW, what kind of mileage do you get with your first gen and all of that hp?
