I just installed a GSK for a guy this weekend (not to mention, KDP fix, big DVs, plate move and starwheel crank  ) Anyways, he told me he bought and paid for a 4GSK and what he got, to my understanding, is a 3GSK. It only came with two inner springs per side, along with the new seat.

I thought that the 4GSK had a smaller inner spring. I am just wondering if he got hoo-doo'd, or maybe a simple mistake  . I am not naming ANY names here, just curious as it could be a simple mistake. ;)

I ordered a 3K GSK from Piers and got one with the smaller inner spring. I called them for clarification and was told the smaller spring was actually for the 4K kit and that I should leave it out for 3K.

I believe that the springs work together to provide a certain level of resistance for the specific speed. If I'm correct, 2 stronger springs would perform the same as 3 weaker ones. That may explain why there were fewer springs in your kit if it came from a different vendor.

I suggest either contacting the vendor for clarificaion or installing the kit to determine how it performs. If it hits 4K, you're good to go. If not, it's not the right kit.

if he only got four spring total it is a 3gsk you get six spring total if 4gsk. Same thing happened to me when I bought my 4gsk from TST I just called them and told them I didn't recieve the two small spring and they shipped them right out for me.

That is what I was thinking, I guess we'll be in contact with his supplier and see if they can resolve it. Thanks.
