I have been told that the only difference between the 2500 and the 3500 SRW is an extra pack of rear springs... .

Would it be possible to just buy the spring pack and add them (with any associated brackets, hardware, of course)????

Has anyone done this??

I am thinking about a little more rear stability when I tow the 5er... . thanks

A set of air bags would probably be cheaper and give you more control when towing. Pretty sure the overloads on the 3500s do not come into play until the truck is down a couple inches in the rear.

I was actually thinking of this today. i had to go to the late model Chrysler salvage for something else and noticed they had several wrecked 03-05 3500's. The overload springs would be easy to swap in. The only problem is the brackets that the overloads would touch once there was a load on them are welded on. So you would have to cut them off a wrecked truck or possibly buy new ones, and then you get in to the issue of not welding on the 3rd gen frames. What would have been great is if DC had bolted these brackets on and it would have been a piece of cake.

If you have a reese 5th wheel hitch, there is a difference between some brackets on the "with helper springs" vrs "without helper springs"
