I have a 98 stock auto 265 16 tires 70 MPH 1900 RPM with a 3. 54 gear

I would like to go to A 4. 10 Gear How mutch faster would the engine turn at same speed.

What do you think about a 4. 10 gear with a auto for a dailey driver

will tow some :-laf

Yep - 2200 RPM.

(4. 10/3. 54) X 1900 = 2200

I have 4. 10's and 36" tires and if I had it to do over I think I would order the truck with 3. 54's. I have a 6-speed so it's a little easier to downshift, but I can't upshift to 7th (even though I find myself trying sometimes!) I run about 2000 RPM at 70.

I have a 97 5. 9 4x4 with a 4. 10 gear ratio. I added a USGEAR two speed transaxle

so when I not towing I have a good top end and decent fuel mileage. The 4. 10 really

works well when towing 12,000 pds of trailer. I can stay with the best of them on the

road with this configuration. When pulling a long grade, I can shift from the low range

which I normally tow in to the High range when speed drops down to about 55mph,

(1700) rpm and go into lower gear and go on up to 65 before shifting back to high gear. I forgot to mention I have an automatic trans. With this arrrangement, I have

left many fords and chev's behind on the hills.
