My 91. 5 has a 3" exhaust system. Most of it appears to be factory except for the muffler.

I'm going to have a new 3" section installed from the downpipe joint to the tail section joint (just in front of the rear axle). The tail section is still very good looking and has perfect smooth bends.

Since the engine is in a stock configuration I don't see the point of going to a 4" exhaust. I simply don't move the fuel/air to need it.

The only mods I intend on here are a 16 non-wastegate exhaust housing for the H1C, ASA modifieds air intake and some tweaks of the injection pump. Doubt I'll ever spend funds on injectors. Maybe, but doubt it.

Eitherway... a good smooth 3" system should flow more than enough for me.

So... I plan on installing a Walker straight thru truck muffler (short one if possible) to keep the tone down a little, and a new 3" center section. The center section and current muffler are a little worn looking.

Does anybody make a nice exhaust tip for 3" exhaust? I'd like a 3" to 4" clamp on tip... but nobody seems to have any for diesels. I love the silverline rolled tips... but they are 4" only.

If it's stock then the bend up over the axle isn't smooth, either someone has replaced it or you better look at it again, the stock exhaust over the rear axle leaves much to be desired.

Just get a 3" to 4" adapter and the 4" tip you want.
