Just to let everyone know, Diesel Injection Services (www.dieselpage.com) is taking orders for the full 2 & 3 guage A-pillar mount that will fit in the '98 & newer Rams with the tweeter.

The full 3 gauge A-pillar is $52. 00. Their gauge prices are great also, I just ordered an Isspro EGT, thermocouple included, boost gauge and trans temp gauge and the price including the A-pillar was $248. 00.

They expect to begin shipping the new A-pillars next week.

Last conversation with Randy at DIS, sounds as though the A-pillars will be in this coming week? Hope so #ad

Hmm - muffler situation, has anyone used the muffler elination kit from Geno's on a 12V and is it recommended?

Thanks all.

Do these full pillars replace the original or do they attach over it. Do they some in factory colors and texture. Please let us know once you get it.

Already sold my ..... 1996 3500 ... On order -- 2001. 5 ETH/DEE, 3500 QC, 4X4, SLT, Black/Agate, LSD, 4:10's (will be running 19. 5's), AirDam, Camper, Keyless, Fogs, TTow Mirrors, Infinity, Steering wheel controls, Pwr Seat, rearseat storage, Tow, travel/convenience.

My understanding is that it is a full replacement. They come in black, you need to paint them to match. I'll post more once I receive.

Somebody let me know if it will hold the depth of the VDO Vision's (pyro, boost, and oil temp). The three-gauge Autometer dash mounted pod keeps melting on top of the dashboard. Autometer was nice enough to replace it once but this is getting rediculous (besides I think that the gauges get baked sitting on top of the dashboard).

<font color=blue> Did you paint your pod at all? I have mine painted and shows no signs of problems sitting outside 24/7.

I purchased the two gauge full A-pillar. It is not the replacement type. It basically fits over the existing A-pillar. It is a very tight fit between the dask and the A-pillar. I wiched I ahd a few more of the plastic holders to keep the new from bowing up.

My understanding is the new Gauge Works FULL pillar mounts are REPLACEMENT panels. I don't know how it would work otherwise with the tweeters. Anyway, I have the first order in for a triple with tweeter. As soon as I receive it I will post my findings.

Brent at D. I. S. figured he would be able to post pix of these on their site prior to their actual release. Hopefully soon. #ad

Dresslered, the FULL pillar mounts had better accomodate the VDO Vision pyrometer as I am going to install BOTH (qty. 2) of mine into this mount (hopefully at the bottom and middle positions, trans. temp. at the top position). I have never had a problem with the sun melting my Gauge Works dual pod pillar mount, hopefully the triple FULL pillar replacement panel will fare as well. I have also had the side windows deep tinted recently so that should provide some additional protection.

I painted both pods with the Dodge paint to match the tan interior (alomost an entire can on each--muliple coats!). I thought that the light color would reflect some of the sunlight. The pod leaves no room between the widshield to get the sun shade over it. The problem with the autometer pod always is at the glue seem between the pod and the aluminum bracket. The first one just came melted and got worse in the sunlight. The second one came perfect and is now begining to melt in the sunlight. I park indoors most of the time, so it is only really in the sun while I am driving. If someone comes out with an all aluminum dash mounted pod, you can count me in!

<font color=teal>dresslered -

I have a "UV Resistent" coating on mine and haven't seen any signs of problems yet. My initial pod did have a problem straight out of the box which AutoMeter replaced promptly no questions asked. Sorry to hear of your troubles with it, I love mine.

D. I. S. pulled a sneak attack on me. #ad
I checked their site JUST prior to launching my last post... they updated their site sometime after. #ad
I was wondering how the tweeter was going to fit into the equation.

KatDiesel-
Don't get me wrong as I think that it is the best place to mount the gauges. If the present indentation does not get worse, I will leave the set-up as is. It looks very factory when painted to match the dash. It just seems that the glue that autometer uses to fasten the aluminum bracket to the thin plastic pod is not ideal.

After checking with Brent at D. I. S. (1-800-658-9355) regarding the release of the NEW Gauge Works FULL pillar mounts, I was informed that the mounts actually COVER (NOT REPLACE) the OE A-pillar panel. As you know, four new versions of the Gauge Works FULL pillar panel are scheduled to be released very soon for the '98+ Rams (dual or triple, with or without tweeter). The dual and triple mounts WITH tweeter will necessitate cutting the OE A-pillar panel to install/relocate the tweeter in a slightly different position. The tweeter relocation position can be viewed in a previous post as well as on the D. I. S. website ( www.dieselpage.com ). Hopefully this will clear up the mystery surrounding the add-on -vs- replacement question. Sorry if I misled any members with a previously unverified assumption I made in a prior post.

For what it is worth, I have a "full replacement" with tweeter, 2 gauge pod on the way to my house right now for initial fit and testing. I will keep you informed.

The plan is to get them made in factory matching textures and colors depending on the demand. No orders yet -- just stayed tuned for the results and forthcoming info. My guess is that they are a month or two away yet, but at least we have the prototype done.
