I just spoke to Brent at DIS today, and the non-tweeter 3-gauge pillar mounts are due in next week, and the tweeter ones are along the same timeframe. He didn't say how many, but they are a cummins.

I received a message (on my answering machine) from D. I. S. earlier in the week stating the FULL pillar mount (triple WITH tweeter) wouldn't be out until late in September.

Hi all,
Here's an update on the one I am working on. FIrst off, the first ones developed will be 2 gauge w/ a tweeter prvision, in factory colors and texture. Full replacement. I currently have the mock-up at my house, but the gauge placement is not right, so I am going to get that corrected. I'm realistically 1-2 months away, but at least it's progressing this time around. For those that can't wait, I'm sure DIS will have theirs first.

I just received an e-mail from UPS informing me that my 3-gauge mount without tweeter has shipped today. Read my earlier post, DIS is getting them early! NOT LATER IN THE MONTH!

Brent originally said the tweeter ones would be ready sooner than the non-tweeter ones, and he was going to ship me the tweeter ones, and called back to say he just got word the non-tweeter ones were on their way. Are you confused yet.
Call Brent at DIS to find out for yourself.
Mine will be here Thursday.

) an e-mail from Brent (dated 9-2-00) of D. I. S. stating all four styles of the new Gauge Works FULL pillar panels will be shipped this week to those that had previously ordered them. Not sure if DIS' pillar is a replacement, but if it just goes over the top of the factory pillar trim I'm willing to wait. I want a 3 gauge replacement pillar. How far off is 3 gauge, Rob?

Well, it seems Autometer pulled a fast one on D. I. S... . they only sent out the triple gauge FULL pillar panels (with and without tweeter) so far. The double gauge (with and without tweeter) will be sent out by Autometer (to D. I. S. ) next week. #ad
You know how it goes... when new products are introduced things always have a way of taking more time than anticipated. #ad

Randy, the newly released Gauge Works/Autometer FULL pillar gauge panels are not replacements instead, they cover the existing (OE) A-pillar panel.

Soon! #ad

go rob go!!!!!!!

count me in as soon as you get it done.

anxiously awaiting dual remote mount and ss lines from tedkidd. unfortunately for me he is on vacation... . he tells me he is having fun. maybe he wouldn't have as much fun if he could feel my angst. THERE IS BOMBING TO DO!!

I received my 3-gauge pod from DIS yesterday, and it completely covers the original A-pillar, and looks great. I'll be installing the gauges this weekend, and painting the mount to match the interior.
Thanks Brent at DIS for the great product.

RX my 3 gauge pod I thought this thing was suppose to be a full replacement and not just a cover piece. Rob let us know when we will have a full replacement part

Just received my 3 guage a-pillar pod about 1 hour ago. Damn thing had been bent in half during shipping. #ad

Other than that, it looks pretty good. I'll be sending the bad one back tomorrow and I sure hope I can get a replacement air shipped to me by the weekend. I've been waiting on this thing for months!

I did a test fit over the existing a-pillar cover. Fits well (except for the slight bend between the middle and lower pods) and looks great. The thing is designed for a press fit with 2" guages - no mounting hardware required. The hole is too small to press fit my 2 1/16" VDO guages. Probably will need to either use some sandpaper or a dremel to enlarge the holes a bit.

Anyone know how to remove the original a-pillar cover?

Also, anyone figured out a way to use the new cover as a full replacement. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard to do - once I figure out how to get the stock one off!

Steve

zman, the OE A-pillar covers on '98+ Rams are removed by wedging your fingers beneath the high side of the pillar (next to the glass) and carefully pulling "straight" down (COMMON TO THE COMPOUND ANGLE IN WHICH THE A-PILLAR COVER IS INSTALLED). Be careful or you WILL break off one or more of the plastic retainers.

I still haven't received mine yet. I sure hope the UPS man doesn't own a Ram. #ad

The stock one haas 3 clips down the center that hold it on. It pops off fairly easy. Start at the top. To install the 2 1/16 gauges, use a dremel, this works great. Took about 5 minutes to enlarge all 3 holes for my IssPro gauges.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the setup.
It looks good, and the 3 gauges are easy to read.
