I know alot of people are interested in the tweeter version of the 3-gauge mount. But here is a link to the non tweeter version new to DIS's website. This one is painted to match the interior, and it looks very clean. No, I am not biased, just because it is my truck that this is on.

I saw a couple of the new 3 gauge pillars w/tweeters today at the shop. Pure junk. It is NOT a pillar replacement. Rather, you mount this contraption OVER the old A--pillar. What you may not know is that you have to slice off the old tweeter mounting provision on the existing A-pillar trim piece. Then, you have to take the little speaker grille off of the old one, and put it on the new one, and it does NOT fit well. To mount the triple pillar w/tweeter, you have to use screws or some other type of fastening device. I am very disappointed with this product. Glad I didn't buy one. Avoid this one, guys... #ad

I believe it has been stated that the preference is to get the non-tweeter pillar to mount the 3-gauge w/tweeter pod to. That way, you don't have to butcher the tweeter mount, and can put it back if and when you sell the truck. Why should it matter if you have to remove your original tweeter, and place it in the new mount? The gauge holes have to be trimmed to fit the gauges. We need to see one installed and finished, so everyone can formulate their own opinion. People really click on other people's opinions. I personally think the install of the non-tweeter version was very clean. I haven't see the tweeter mount, and before I formulate an opinion, I'd like to see facts. Someone that ordered the tweeter version should post a picture so all can see it for themselves. Surely, the material is similar to the other styles already out there. Granted, I know some people want a full replacement, and there will probably be some shortcoming in that one, in some people's opinions.
Products change to the customers needs, or they don't sell after a while.

I saw one of the new pillars mounted on a 98. 5 today. The way the speaker is molded into the pillar just looks kinda funny. Mounting the speaker in the pillar is no problem... Just the WAY you have to do it sucks.
