Water leak

Over the weekend I was traveling down I-75 and I noticed a semi-truck in front of me that had strobe light turn signals. They really got my attention that he was going to change lanes.
It also got me to thinking - my travel trailer has LED taillights - Hmmmmm.........
My question is: Is this something that I could wire into the trailer wiring? Would it give any odd feedback to the truck tipm/ecu?
I searched the net and found this: http://www.iowa80.com/DirectionsWEB/webcart_productDisplay.php?itemid=191594

That unit will work. power in would be what is going to your break/turn light now

I have thought more about this project and then it occurred to me that my brake lights will also start the "impulse". I don't think this is going to work after all. The brake lights need to be bright and steady. My trailer would need to have separate turn and brake lights somewhat like the older european cars.

I understand that the standard LED strobes meet a federal standard... do you know if this device meets that standard... OTOH I'd guess that most of the law enforcement officers won't know the standard anyway.... the kit my motorcycle has on it... to flash both the brake and turn signal lights to make it more visible meets that standard and ran close to $100....

Just my thoughts...

Most of us Law Enforcement officers aren't DOT (Federal motor laws) certified and can't enforce those laws. Most Highway Patrol types are DOT certified, but I honestly don't think any one of them would care.

I have seen these on some tankers locally. I have also seen a few that were used as brake lights, they strobed 3 times and then remained steady red.
I wonder if some of these kits behave the same way as long as the power remains on????

Mike.

I usually see this on firetrucks and ambulances that don't have a separate arrow for the turn indicator....not sure if its on purpose or if its because those lights serve as a strobe as well when the truck is running... I am curious how this turns out if you do it.
