I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have a 3rd gen 5.9l cummins. Basically stole it from a colleague when he was gona trade it in back in 2017... Love it... It has a 3 inch body lift ,is it worth leaving the 3 inch body lift or is it worth upgrading. i know its only a 2wd but am in need of full end rebuilt (bushings, upper lower ball joints). i use my truck for dirt biking and pulling a offroad tear drop for when we go riding. Any advice is much appreciated. Nick

It basically comes down to how you use is. A body lift only provides room for bigger tires, and no additional suspension improvements. If you ditch the body lift you can install a suspension lift and get some better benefits.

There is something to be said about not fixing what isn’t broke, but having ran body lifts in the past there is also something to be said about not running a body lift.

Late here, but back in the 90s body lifts seemed to muck w/so many safety aspects (brake lines, steering shaft, fuel fill) we avoided them. We had an S-10 come in with a three-inch body lift and it ran hot/didn't cool AC well because the fan and radiator were no longer aligned. I can't remember how the fan/shroud are mounted in relation to the cooler stack on a 3rd gen, but something to think about.
