HI all:

Steve, do you have any idea who makes the bar light for the 3500 Dodge tail gate? I bought the Handy Corp. louvered tail gate and need to install a light bar. I checked Grote and they don't have what I want. I went to Freight liner and all they had was single lights. I bought a new bar for my truck from Dodge and it was $18. 00. No lights , no inserts, and no wiring. Just the plastic part.

I had a virus eat my computer and I lost a lot of addresses and I don't remember the co. that had the lights I like.

Thanks Thomas. The bar is the problem. I contacted Peterson about their lights but the bar is another thing. I want one that will take the LED lights. At 100,000 hours those will still be burning when mine goes out. :D

Preston-

Truck-Lite Makes LED marker bars in a number of different styles, including ABS that are nearly identical to what we have on the Rams. They also make some out of aluminum and polished stainless and you can get all of them in sealed bulb or LED. They also sell the lamps individually (LED or Bulb). The LED is not cheap, but looks great, is brighter and lasts forever.

:D

Walley world aka Wal-mart has them for about 8$ just about as good as Mopar. I made my own gate and used 3 dubble marker lights they had comon ground I cut the ground and put in a wire to connect to the wire harnes of the truck (two wire system . mini plug also from Wal -mart added extra plug to harnes so regular gate still can be hooked up with out a hasel . my lites each have two bulbs and are spaced with out a bar and recesed in the gate , works and looks good . Hope this helps . Ron in Louisville KY:eek:   :D

Thanks Ron:

The reason I was looking for the Dodge type is I'm addicted to the LED lights. . I was looking to install them. After runnin the LED's, the OEM lights don't even look like they're on. I may have to go with the side type in the 3500's. Single X 3.

Thanks all.

Preston- Did you find what you were looking for a Truck Lite?? I have both Truck Lite and Maxxima LED lighting throughout my truck and trailer and your right. BRITE!!!!!!!:D :D :D I have the model 21 Reds in my stock tailgate (5 accross in pattern) and the damn things are brighter than my tail lights! Now I just need to replace the stock bulbs with those LED replacements!?! Anyone done that?

Dkevdog:

I went to their web site but from what I can tell you have to be a dealer to by from them. All I really saw was a phone #. I guess I'll call.

Thanks.

. . Preston,,

Preston- True- you do have to order from a dealer, but there are a great deal of them. You can call them and they can get you a dealer local to you or you can order from an on-line dealer (what I've done) If you go on-line use the trucklite website and when you fond the one you want do a yahoo search for the part number. That has yielded the best results for me. I found that Wire Connections had pretty good prices and service.
