well, here is a new question im preparing the cold/air charge pipe for my 62/71/14/ ht3b twins, i know that ats and bd use 3'' intake charge piping, they are smaller turbos in comparison to my 3b, but i can put together a 3'' charge pipe for $42 but a 3. 5 or 4 will cost at least $130+ will a 3'' charge pipe work as well as a 3. 5? thoughts? TIA

The pipe going to the intercooler can be 3". The one between the 2 windmills should be 4" as it doesn't run as much pressure.

I am pretty sure that the outlet of my 3b is 3. 5" and then I used a 3. 5" to 4" expander/reducer to go in the front of my hx35. If your 62 is the same inlet size (I think it is) that is what I use. A lot of other guys setups use a 4" coldpipe, but I think it is more for looks. Also, someone mentioned to me though that you can get tighter mandrel bends in 4" than 3. 5". It doesn't make sense, but a possibility. If you look at mine you can see that It would look better if I had a tighter bend.

3" will be fine... the OD of a 3B outlet is 3. 5, but the ID is less than 3" IIRC

the inducer of your top turbo is less than 3"

I doubt you'll really see any difference between a 3" intermediate cold pipe and a 4"

lag/heat will change with var. cold pipe ID (the volume of air needed to fill the pipe), but not much. For MOST applications the diff. is so slight you'd never notice. If you plan to tow @ lower RPMs use the smaller ID pipe. If you plan to race go larger. ;)
