30 seconds between searches

What's the deal with that? Sort of a PITA, is it really necessary?

While I'm at it how about kicking the 1440 minutes to edit up to 2160?

Yes, it's very necessary. We have people trying to crash the server almost every day. If the search feature did not have a time limit they could submit search after search, tie up the CPU's, and crash it. I just learned of the edit limit the other day and was going to change it and forgot to. I just changed it so that you can edit your message at any time after posting it (no limit).

Thanks Steve. Figured there must be a reason for the 30 seconds. Are you saying people come onto the site with the intension of crashing it? What's up with that, mischief or what?

Steve, how about cooking the code to look for the logged in cookies. If the user is logged in, allow the search. If not, he waits 30 seconds. Or perhaps the logged-in user waits 5 seconds... .

Like you don't have enough to do already... .
