Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 300 Marine Injectors

What are the pros and cons of 300 marine injectors. I would go to the 370s but I drive around town alot and would like to keep my good mileage. Also were can I get a good set of them.

I just replaced the 300 marines with Don M Mach 3's. The 300's worked great. Excellent mileage & driveability. Absolutely no complaints.

I have 300's and like them. Good all around power increase, and with the right plate they'll smoke nicely too. The lowest price I recall seeing them is at City Diesel. Mileage, ... well... , that's directly related to your right foot. Easy on the pedal and you shouldn't see any major reductions in MPG's.

How do CityDiesels injectors compare to say Piers injectors. becaue Piers lists their 370s for $100 more then City Diesel. Are Piers injectors a matched set and City Diesels arent?

Call Tim at City Diesel, he'll explain just what he's got.



On the 300's. I asked a very knowlegeable TDR guy about them and he doesn't like them at all. This fellow does a LOT of dyno testing and told me that the 300's just didn't cut it. He doesn't recommend them.



So I tried some 6-hole 215's and they'd be GREAT if I was towing and watching EGT's, but I'm not. Now I have a set of 370's to put in.

I have 370's and I see no milage drop. in town or on the freeway.

I saw no decrease in fuel milage after installing the 370's. 95% of the people that install 300's replace them with 370's so why not start out with the 370's and be good to over 650 H. P.

Thanks for all of the replies I am going to go with the 370s. Now the question is who has the better pair, Piers or City Diesel. City Diesel is $100 cheaper but then again you get what you pay for. I will call and talk to Tim at City Diesel tomorrow, but what do you guys think is the best way to go.

Check to be sure they are matched sets and come with the install kit. Piers matches all of his sets and they come with the install kit.

Thanks for the tip Bruce. Also everything else is stock except for the K&N drop in air filter and timing at 18 deg. Will I have a problem with smoke or EGTs with the 370s.

Nah, not without an aftermarket plate. Heck that's what your EGT gauge is for. Now you get to USE it.



Seriously, you should try a BHAF and you'll want to get your boost up into the low 30's with a "boost" elbow, or plug, or turnbuckle--whatever your turbo needs to slow down or disable the wastegate. Personally I don't run the 35/12 over 35# which will require some wastegate action.

18* is too much timing 15 or 15 1/2 is more than enough for your truck. The 370's will make higher EGT's and smoke, you can add a hybrid turbo HX35-40 and reduce smoke and EGT's. To make H. P. it takes fuel and air once you have the 370's installed next is 3K GSK, larger turbo, better air intake and then exhaust. I hope this helps.
