1) Unless those who have the "drone" are talking about the characteristic thrum of the Cummins (every class 8 tractor I ever drove had it too) , then NO I don't have the "drone".

2) The NV5600 is noisy. It is a HEAVY DUTY truck transmission and therefore sounds like one too. Go buy a FOO FOO truck if you don't like the noise.

3) I definitely prefer the 3. 73 ratio. Geez, how many vehicles do you know that can move out that smartly WITHOUT going over 2,000 RPM's?

4) This motor is just a work of mechanical art! It's almost like having an unobtanium exotic car with a tailgate!!!!

5) The deep satisfying grin you get when you roll into the throttle on the entrance ramp at about 35mph in 6th. The guy in the euroitalijap car will have to really be jammin' on it to pull you!! Can you say bodacious torque? :D

6) After running a locomotive all day (which is really a diesel/electric winch driving two sets of trucks when you think about it) , it's refreshing to row through the gears. The 3, 5 , 6 shift really moves out!

7) Best I can tell, diesel fumes get in the cab when you don't have the recirculating air on. What's wrong with diesel fumes anyway???????

8) Yes, I'm having a LARGE time!!!!!

I agree with you on that. I also have an ST, which I have been really happy with. I like the simplicity of it, no power anything. I thought I would miss the power mirrors but seeing as I am the only one who drives the truck I have only had to adjust them once. I noticed you are looking for new wheels, same here. I have talked to Alcoa just about every month about the new aluminum 19. 5" direct bolt on wheels they are coming out with, they have been delayed until spring. I am going to wait for those, they have said they will be under $250 and have the correct backspacing. They are making them for GM, Ford and Dodge for both the SRW amd DRW.

Hallelujah! I've stumbled onto some ST brothers, Amen and dittos to the "unobtanium exotic car with a tailgate" and "FOO FOO truck" comments.

On the 19. 5s, has anyone any experience with

products. They have a very good looking dually 19. 5s. I've bookmarked this page for when I'm rich and famous. Note, you need to use MS explorer to get the pages to work right :(

EMD-Run8, very well put. Dodge Cummins trucks are for guys (and gals) who like TRUCKS. Kind of like TNT (the tv channel) plays movies for guys who like movies.
