Ok I have a great deal coming on some Cummins 300HP Marine Injectors since I found a buddy some 370's for dirt cheap.

Just wondering if anybody could tell me how much HP I'm gonna gain from this?

Planning on #10 plate sometime after Christmas, but I'm gonna need a clutch first:{

That would be impossible to tell. The injectors will deliver more fuel at the same pressure than the 180's or 215's but there are to many factors that will ultimatly tell HP. Cam plate size and location, turbo size, intake, etc. :cool:

Sorry Bill maybe I didn't make myself clear. I didn't mean I wanted an EXACT # that I would recieve, just a round about guess.

I have the same setup as "wirenut" except 3K governor springs , a 14 turbo housing and a 4 exhaust with my dyno numbers at 405 HP and 1021 Lbs of torque. Now that is strange. I can't imagine what the difference could be. ;)

Ok, the 4k governor springs are on the wish list, but an H2E turbo will be in the mail directly! I better get a clutch real soon.

You really, really DONT want the 300s!!! Had them in a boat and all it would do is burn fuel and smoke... put in the 370's and the smoke went away and the boat would LEAP out of the water! So, for what it's worth I think the 300s suck and the 370s are a miracle for our motors.

BC do you remember my other injector thread? I believe you responded too it. I don't want 370's because I tow 10,000lbs plus on occasion and once I get my 3K GSK's in I plan on using them because I have 3. 55 gears and 33" tires. I don't want to have to back out of the pedal because she's getting to hot. :{

Besides I'm getting a screaming deal on these 300's if I put them in a don't like them I can always resell them and get my money back. :D

Strange how this power up thing works. I installed the 300's and liked them. Other folks talked me into the 370's and I still have them. Plenty of power but to much smoke for me. Gets on the side of the fiver and that mean constant cleaning.

Now, I called Keith at DIS and talked to him about their dd'2 or 3's. Same power, less smoke, more money. What will I do? No se. One thing for sure. The 370's have a lots more power and EGT's. For that, install a 14 turbo housing and 4" exhaust. I hardly ever get over 1000 now. Even towing 15K lbs.

One thing for sure. If you upgrade based on the money spent, you never will get what you really want. Another thing is don't skimp on the parts for the Cummins. You won't regret it.

Got Smoke!!!

I think if I read correctly you still have a stock plate, no GSK, ... . very close to stock power if not total stock?

If you add a #10 or if you add a #11 or if you add 370 injectors, you will not need to back out of it with 10K on. You will have more power especially down low below 2400 rpms that will be should be below problem egt area.

Al are Piers suggested to me that plates give more adjustment to add or remove power (slide plate) and control EGTS.

Injectors add power all the time. That is good and bad.

While GSKs add more engine range this allows a give setup to get into to EGT problems which otherwise would never show up.

If you are getting a great deal... do not pass it up. Just keep in mind extra power reduces the need for more gears, shifting and all the problems that are a pain with a stock setup.

With #10 plate or stronger, 300s dynoed +8 hp vs. 215s in a 215 engine. I would not bother putting them in if I had them. I get used and new 370s and others that work much better from time to time and which do have worthwhile characteristicsfor various applications in our Rams.

Joe knows a lot more about this stuff than I do. But I would say the 300's added a lot more than 8 hp. to my 215 injectors. I would say more like 40hp.

I have the 300's #10 and gov. spring kit and am over 400hp with this combination.

This is the Combo that I'm going to be installing (in steps:( ) and 400HP is my goal so thanks Garry!:D Oo.

I'm still trying to figure out which injectors I have, but I think they are probably 300s. With my Bosch plate (that nobody knows much about), I can make smoke and have lots of power. I can easily get her up to 1200 deg pre-turbo if I want to.
