I got a 4" lift and I still get just a little tire rubbing with those size tires. I'm not sure if my backspacing is the same though. I could probably use just a bit more of that.
I run the 315/70r17's on rims that have a 5" backspacing with a skyjacker 2" front spring lift. I have no rubbing so this is feasable.
EXCEPT I think the backspacing for the Hummer Wheels is about 6" (like 2000-2002 2500 rams) I dont think that backspacing will work on a 96 which comes with a 4. 5" backspacing. Because I had a backspacing of 6. 25. I could go to a 5" Backspaced wheel fine. You may have a problem.
