This is my 2nd set of the 315's and I am having a balancing problem with this set and was wondering if that is a problem some are seeing with these tires.

My first set didnt have a problem at all but these are a different story------I am getting a vibration that starts about 61mph and goes on up as high as 80. I took them back to discount tire told them and they rebalanced them-----looks like they took weights off and they did move them on the wheel but it still didnt help. I have about 3000 miles on these tires and was wondering what my options are.

Thanks

JIM

I'd start off by verifying that the tires are not "defective" with the use of a road force balancer. After properly attempting to match-mount the tire & wheel assemblies and the problem still existed, I'd pursue new tires..... If they only have 3,000 miles on them, they still should be within their warranty period for a ride disturbance adjustment.

Those are big tires. Big tires are generally tougher to get balanced well. If you think about it, the larger the tire diameter, the further the balance wieghts are from the tread, the more it will take to balance them.

I would also find a road force balancer, that will identify a bad tire. Then you need to get a replacement, which shouldn't be a big deal from a big outfit like Discount.

As far as the BFG AT KO goes, I personally think they are the greatest thing since pudding! I have 285's on two of my trucks and the third one would have them too but it is a dually. I can easily get 40-50k miles from them, they are winter rated like a dedicated snow tire, they offer excellent traction summer, winter, on and off road. I have GY MT-R's on my two off-road trucks and I am only somewhat impressed. Those trucks would have BFG MT KM's if they would have been availible when I NEEDED tires.

This road force balancer is that what Discount tire uses? They have rebalanced once and I am going there again Wed to try and find out whats going on. Seems like the vibration quits at 80 or 81 mph. I know my last set I got from Sam's club I didnt have this problem-----so we will see

Is there any chance a product like balancing beads, from Innovative balancing.com , might help?

Do any of you guys use them? What's your experience been?

Need to find out which one or more have a runout of . 050" or more and warranty those. You can balance an egg shape tire when its up off the ground on a spin balancer but when you set it on the ground it will still turn untrue and shake anything its mounted to.

BFG's are notorious for being out of round. Most folks that like them have got a good set and the others that hate them get the out of round ones.
