I am having the 315's installed today. I am going with the BFG's. Just want to check one last time on a few things first.

1. Will they fit without any rubbing? I plan on putting a leveling kit on in Dec. (hopeful christmas gift), but will I have any problems with the tires rubbing before then?

2. Can the speedo be recalibrated?

3. any other issues I might have that ya'll can give me a heads up on?

Just picked up the truck from the tire shop and the new tires make the truck look... SWEET:) I will post pics once I snap some with the camera.

I should have mine tomorrow. You should come out to the Big D Dodge Diesel Club meeting in Addison a week from Saturday to show it off.

my 315's were suppose to arrive at my tire dealer today, and if he's got them, tomorrow this time, i should have the 315's under it. [and if the weather is nice, i'll install the rear fender well liners and front and rear mudflaps]

hmm, perhaps i'll start my muffler surgery tomorrow also... :-laf:D:D

did you guys trade in your stock tires/wheels?

if so how much did you get for them? i think im getting hosed.

im getting $500 for tire&wheels but i have the alloy wheels which are a $345 option so im only getting $155. for 4 brand new michlins with 220 miles:{

what do you think?

Can't help you Summit, the SO's ride needs tires and the Michelins will fit on it. Go figure, load range Es on a Nissan Xterra but it gets me the new tires on the Dodge! Got a buddy, Southbound, that sold his. Perhaps he'll chime in and tell you what he got for his when he sold them.

Garage Clearance

I want to upgrade to 315s for my next set of tires. What is the actual difference in heigth (diameter) of the tire vs. the stock 265s? Can someone actually measure their 315 height in inches?

I only have about 1 1/2 inches of clearance in my garage opening, so I want to make sure the truck will still fit, otherwise I 'll be breakin' out the chainsaw.

got my 315's installed today. do they ever look nice... i also installed the factory molded mudflaps and the rear wheel well liners. the mudflaps don't quite cover all the tire, but they cover the body enough to protect it somewhat. i have pictures, but my webshots photo hosting server seems to be down at the moment so i can't upload. my tireshop did a good job with all 5 of them [yep, there is a 315 spare tucked up under the bed] and they managed to balance the alloy's with no weights on the outside of the rim [the steel spare has weights on the outer] and they took them off, i put them on & torqued them to spec. now i am glad i have those running boards sitting here at home, cause now i am going to need them to get in ;) . you can feel that the power is gone a bit when taking off in 2nd gear, but it is not bad... i haven't really driven her hard yet, so i won't really miss the power i never knew i had eh ;):-laf

dPierce,

I got my 315s today and they are about 33. 5" on the rear, didn't measure the front. I like them so far. The real test will come next month when we go to AZ to visit in-laws. We always do quite a bit of wheeling and traveling out there.
