315's towing and stability

I have pretty much made my mind up to go with an auto this time around for a new truck, mainly because of the bad gearing the g56 has. I would rather have a 6 speed but was wondering how putting on 35's like bfg AT's would affect towing stability and how they wear compared to the standard size. 90% of the trucks intented use will be pulling a 4500lb cargo trailer on the highway and around town for my business, but its pretty heavy on the ball about 700#'s or so, how will the 35's perform in my situation

I have 315's on my truck and I don't notice any stability problems. Most of the towing has been with our small fifth wheel which has a pin weight around 1500#.

They should be fine w/that wieght. I had 35's on my 05' for about 10,000 miles. For mild towing they were nice, but with my 9' plow and 2000lbs. of salt in the bed they were too squirmy. But towing a 18' carhauler with a lifted s10 on it and a 8' bed 1/2 full to the rails w/fire wood it did alright. Stock tires handle the heavy stuff much better imo.

I tow at 5100 loaded, and no problems at all, and that's with a shortbed.

They definetly have more side to side sway, they also really sap the power when towing, I noticed a huge difference towing just 5k lbs and that was with 4. 10s. I went back to 265s.

I would bet if you do much towing even lower wieght with 3. 73s and the automatic you will really shorten the life of the transmission.

I tow a 4 horse gooseneck and gooseneck flatbed loaded w/ hay regularly. Gross trailer weights avg. 10k to 14k. I have no trouble towing as fast as I want to go in our higher altitude w/ 315's.

With a little extra power you won't even notice to difference of the 315's. I have no problem towing this For what your going to be towing I wouldn't even bat an eye with 315's

Shoudn't be an issue. I pondered this for awhile as well. I went with the Toyo MTs. They ar a true 10 ply E load range. I had hauled a few tons of dirt the other day and tires were a non issue.
